As a performer how important is it to get attention and get paid, in order for the artist to reach the greatest amount of souls?

Broken bones

Broken bones and unpaid loans
He struggles to make a home
racin’ the clock just to get home.

Drinking alone again tonight.
The night wishes the moon never left her.
The house on a hill, notes on a page,
sharks always feel safe in a bullet proof
cage.
Broken souls won’t be free until they stop
working for a wage. Sweat dripped down her
crack and onto the wooden stage.
Booty shorts will never loose there carnal rage.

Different colors of temptation
freshly printed on all two hundred pages.
Youth pastors preach watered down tablet’s
of fire and damnation. Deaf ears roll home
and help ‘Zenata Somebody” garnish
two billion downloads with only thirty one pages.

I shout in the coffee house, in a tone that’s
outrageous. But isn’t that the point when
people look for safety in the houses that look
more like prisons and cages.

Man’s biggest fear is to be alone
through out all time and all ages.
The power of this perspective can
be quite outrageous.
Learning how to be happy, positive
and free is insanely contagious.

Waiting On Redemption

I’ve seen love in the face of a stranger
I seen love heal away in a manger
Two thousand years ago.
Two thousand ears ago.
Listen to the tune on my space
digital age amazing grace.

Dry dead bones shift gear’s
down a broken road of deception.
Hold back your tears
hold back your fears
hold back your cheers.

Broken fears can still make a rich man stubble
and second guest the race that’s
won by the swift and the strong.
Be he that endures to the end
step back a second before you begin.

Platinum blonde dyed hair
I know life ain’t fair
every time you step to the stage.
Dry sensation deep concentration
more then a blonde moment of
contemplation waiting to come out.

Screaming demon’s from the past
you were lubed up ready to shake your….
cast ye the first stone ye with out sin.
Standing in the mirror day after day
waiting to begin a life with out sin.

Who Do you Do.

People tend to do, who they are.

Maya Angelou “ When some one shows you who they are believe them”

number 5!!!

Talent is number 5 showing up!!! is number 1. showing up on time will get you the gig the following year.
having a good attitude is a cancer it’s spreads.

Bread crumb samurai

Follow the trail of bread crumbs, that thing that we love so much that we stay up late, wake up early with no hesitation.

Get good at identify what we loved when we were 5.

Be a Samurai, have a code for what we absolutely won’t do.

Go do that for as long as it gives us joy.

Pretty rim's and Sex toy's

Challenge with doing work that matters and working a 9 to5 gig.

First Question: How did we get here…. No seriously, the compromise is the part that we get ashamed of….
There was a time, we had energy and zeal for life. Now we have to fight tooth and nail for peace of mind…. amongst the sugar latte’s and teriyaki chicken accepted because it’s not fast food “right” . The acceptance factor is hard….it’s hard to accept how much compromised….that we have accepted…. how much we have stuffed way down away from the world.

No excuses It’s great that we can talk about passion, dreams and following our calling. It’s about doing…. Executing the project.
Talking and doing… is like rim’s on a car and a sex toy…..one may required us to get our hands a little dirty with a promise of reward when we’re done. Pretty rim’s won’t do jack for us except look pretty.
Doing work that feeds our soul has nothing to do with looking pretty.

Now looking back at the worst day of my life

I wake up many mornings and can’t believe my Dad is gone. I struggle with my new reality. The reality of my Dad not being here. He was amazing force in my life, I can hear his voice in every thing that I do.

What a man!! He was the epitome of faithfulness. He gave until it was gone. Now that my Dads energy is gone from this earth. I am overwhelmed when I think that I had the chance to be his son. I realized that God has truly shinned his love on me in allowing me to have a Dad like my Dad!! I love you Daddy.

Dusty palms
True Grit
He walked the
dusty roads
with a pure heart
before God and man.
A smile on his face
Five kids and five acres.
Four St. Bernard’s
Two Churches

He was a desert man.
A country man,
A workin’ man
A real man
A kind man.
A loving Man
A Man of Steel
the man is steel is gone
but his legacy lives on.

The truth is sometimes rated XXX

In Kent Washington there are more then 300 under age prostitutes actively working on a daily….the gangs run prostitution in Kent WA. I won’t bore you with any other statistics….. numbers are just numbers.

The environment in Kent around 4pm on a week day is gritty. Prostitutes are on every other corner trading sex for money or drugs. I once saw a prostitute at noon working the Johns and by 6:00pm due to the drugs consumed during her shift she was cracked out of her mind…..stumbling down the street still trying turn a tricks. To witness that level of low was so unnerving.

I worked in Kent for a year and the stories piled up of encounters with prostitutes. Now years later l am reminded of marginalized weary ones. That have a reality so far from my own. but demographically so with in reach of my thoughts, prayers, empathy and support.

Sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, under age prostitution is hard to acknowledge. It’s hard to talk about. It’s hard to accept as even remotely related to us and our reality.

It’s hard stop and even (care) about something that is going on in a far away place, to some one else’s child. It’s hard to recognize the darkness in others. It hard to accept that we must first identify the same darkness in ourselves.

What about the old cliché “the truth will set you free” or “the truth hurts’’ here is a new one “ the truth is sometimes rated XXX and it’s worthy of our attention” .

Peace and love to the weary souls

Too rich for Face book and I understand

Here are a few of peices that were pulled from face book. I totally didn't think about these being too much for face book. when I initially posted them. As i think about it now, totally understand that other people would find them to be offensive. My hope is that this blog will showcase my art and give people a choice to view my art or ignore if it's not for them.

As an artist I don't hold back anything. I am exstremely honest and open I am grateful to anyone who takes the time to view my work

love ya thank you Travis
